A dusting of snow over Trollhattan - the view from Stretchy's apartment.

Trollywood....yep! Trollhattan's Hollywood. They are well known for their filming here. Nicole is one of very few stars honoured with their own star. The taking of this photo provided plenty of entertainment for passing pedestrians...I think Stretchy took his time taking it just to extend our embarrassment...

Exploring the Lochs around Trollhattan, Sweden, where our good friend Stretchy is working for the next 6 months.

Chatting with Santa at Tivoli. He was asking all about you guys back in Oz.

The lights of Tivoli

The three Aussies with The Little Mermaid

Tina, Stephanie, me, Ruth and Talitha....having a rest on the way to the Little Mermaid.

Nyhavn, Copenhagen with the Christmas makets.

At the entrance to Tivoli (Stepahnie, me and Tina)....the lights were beautiful and the whole atmosphere was just magical....and a little freezing.

Some of the Traditional Danish Christmas food. Including: rye bread (lots with each course!!), red cabbage, caramalised potatoes and pork.

This all came after a couple of courses of fish and before the rice, almond and cherry pudding.

There was a lot of food but we definately enjoyed it!

Our class Christmas dinner. Åse Katrine (who will be in Oz next year at Deakin) and Louise.

Here I am with some of my fellow 6th floor residents at the 'first snow' - we had a great night.

First snow.....the traditional release of Tuborg's Christmas edition beer in bars all over Denmark. Here in Viborg, I went along to Crazy Daisy for the special occasion.

Birthday celebrations...Til, myself & Ruth enjoyed a beautiful birthday dinner...if we may say so ourselves....!

Roo's birthday!

The birthday girl (the big 21!) with many of her presents..... from all over the world...

Roo and I with our last Berliner Weisser on the way home to Viborg, the awesome adventures of Bailey and Halls were over....for now....

Me with my pack in Berlin...Ruthie and I have bad luck with trains, we seem destined to catch every delayed, technically faulty, seatless train in Europe.

Aushwitz - my best photo..... so strange to actually stand there amongst these familiar images that represent so much suffering...

Aushwitz II - Birkenau, the railway line through the camp.

The experience of visiting Auschwitz is not something I am likely to forget - a powerful reminder of the evil humanity is capable of....

Ruth and I enjoying Polish bagels and with the roses we were handed in the street - everyone was so welcoming and friendly!!

St Mary's church, main square, Krakow. Note the open window in the tower from where a horn is played every hour since the 17th centuary in memory of a watchman who was shot by an arrow as he played the horn to warn the town of an attack.

Wawel Cathedral, Krakow - beautiful sunny day with a high of 6 degrees!!!

At the East Side Gallery - large section of Berlin wall covered with artwork

A hearty German meal - sausage, sauerkraut (sp?) and potato and Berlinerweiser (introduced by French protestants who didn't like Berlin's bitter beer).

Some of my gourmet(?!) cooking

The three aussies ready to attend the Masters graduation (a joint program between Viborg and Deakin in Melbourne). Fit to meet HRH Princess Mary of Denmark (the guest of honour) the girls were a little disappointed that the baby had not allowed its mother to attend.

sorry - forgot to rotate

Some of the Danish girls from my class out to dinner in Viborg

Ruth and I at the footy (soccer) with the Danish pie equivalent! - surprisingly tasty.

Down by the lake with Ruth.

The view from my room, looking over Viborg.

The school of Nursing Viborg. I live on the 6th floor of the yellow building.

My room a few days later (now I even have a t.v and laptop!).

My room on arrival here at the Viborg School of Nursing.

Ålesund (& me!)

The view over Ålesund, after Alice made me climb yet another hill!

The long climb up a BIG Norwegian mountain, Gamlemsveten. Can't believe we made it - honestly!

Alice, Lena, me and Camilla - a night out in Norway.

Exploring the areas of German occupation along the coast of Søvik.

Picking blueberries atop yet another Norwegian mountain with Alice.

Alice and I on Terøy toppen (the small - by Norwegian standards- mountain behind her house that we climbed a few times).

Camilla, myself and Alice at the Oya music festival back in Oslo. ($12 beers, welcome to Norway!).

Jacquie breaking through the Berlin wall

The Brandenburg gates, Berlin

Unfortunately, this is how I spent most of my time in Belarus. I couldn't eat anything, I was so nauseous and vomitus - not a big deal Russian/Belarussian food was not the most appealing of my trip. Mum, Dad- you remember the gnocchi in Venice? Let's just say that this bought back memories

Memorial at Brest fortress Belarus

St Basils, Red Square, Moscow.
Another beautiful day...
